Solar hybrid Photovoltaic-Thermal (PV-T) collectors for heating and cooling in buildings: Challenges and Opportunities
The simultaneous generation of heat and electricity of solar hybrid Photovoltaic-Thermal (PV-T) collectors makes them a promising technology for heating and cooling supply in both residential and non-residential buildings. This keynote will discuss the key challenges for the adoption of PV-T technology, opportunities, and future outlook.
Speakers
María Herrando Zapater
Dr María Herrando is a project coordinator and a Juan de la Cierva-Incorporación fellow in the Materials and Components division of the Technology Centre of Aragon (ITA). She is an Industrial Engineer, with an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London and an International PhD in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency from the University of Zaragoza. Her PhD focused on the analysis of solar hybrid PV-Thermal (PV-T) systems for heat and power supply in buildings, a field which she has been researching since 2011. She has been working in coordination, supervision and execution of collaborative R&D projects (Horizon Europe, H2020, FP7) for more than 10 years. Her research lines include developing and validating models for Multiphysics systems, optimising energy efficiency in equipment, systems and buildings, and techno-economic optimisation of systems.
