Health Relevant Approach For Assessing Urban Green Spaces in Cities

This research explores the critical connections between human Health and Well-Being (H&WB) and the characteristics of urban green spaces. By focusing on two specific green spaces in the city of Chania, the study employs a range of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess these areas' effectiveness in  H&WB. The KPIs cover essential factors such as the availability of green areas, ease of access, patterns of usage, the capacity to lower air temperatures, and the ability to reduce air pollution. Data is gathered through a combination of in-situ measurements, modeling techniques, and questionnaires. The study's results highlight the significant role urban green spaces play in enhancing the quality of life for citizens.
